The Easiest French Manicure You’ll Ever Do

I have to say, I’m not much for painting my nails, but I do love a good French manicure.  I saw an article a while back and it had a link to this tutorial.  I’m certainly not anywhere near this level of nail expertise, but following this tutorial will be encouraging because I, like many others, am not a nail pro.  If I can do it, you can!

Materials

  • White nail polish (or a different color if you prefer)
  • Clear top-coat nail polish
  • Reinforcement labels
  • Nail polish remover
  • Q-Tips or a paintbrush

How To

  • Clean and shape your nails.
  • Adhere the reinforcement labels to your nail, just a little bit below the white part of the nail.  Press it down hard to ensure the label adheres to the nail and the nail polish will not bleed.

Paint a light first coat of white (or other color) onto the nail.  For me, painting left to right vs. top to bottom gave a smoother coat.

  • Add a second light coat of polish.  I tend to be a little bit messy to ensure all parts of the nail are covered and then fix it later.
  • Take off reinforcement labels.  It doesn’t really matter if they’re dry.  If it bleeds, you will clean it up in the next step.

  • Dip the paintbrush or Q-Tip into the nail polish remover.  Carefully use the paintbrush or Q-Tip to clean up any spots or messy areas.  I used the Q-Tip for my fingers and the paintbrush for the actual nails.

Nail Polish Remover

  • Let the tips dry completely.  Then, add a top coat to seal the nail polish.

Clear Coat

  • Admire your beautiful French manicure.
